Death of a Camera

Cameras and me... not a great track record right now. I am looking to turn that around... more on that later.

Please pause with me for a moment of silence.

Canon SD 800is. You were a good camera. You brought so much joy and gave us so many memories. You have been here through 2 Christmas's... almost a 3rd but alas, it wasn't meant to be. You endured being the primary camera for Adam... not an easy task as he is not gentle on his gadgets. You attempted to fill the void when I foolishly lost my camera and for that I am thankful. You didn't always focus correctly but I think you were doing your best and in the end, lens trouble is what took you down. Now I understand.

Rest well my friend.

And because mama can't be without a camera for long... meet my new companion.

I love you little Canon SD 780is. This is the start of a beautiful friendship.

PS. Ever the observant child... Chase's reaction...

@diana - ugh... the thing frustrates me more than it makes me feel warm and fuzzy. we still use it but only on special outings... it's too big to lug around and is a battery suck. we have rechargable ones but can't find the charger. Sorry I haven't been around the challenges... my follow through leaves little to be desired.

@mandy - hey now... you better watch yourself missy! I'll start pulling out the big guns like your blogging frequency ;~)

I know how you feel, I really have to force myself to take the camera with me when I'm out and about with Sam....it's just sooo much to lug around. But sometimes I take it with just my 50mm lens. My canon came with it's own rechargeable lithium and I bought two extras...they last me about 8 hours of continuous shooting and I love it! Batteries can really be a drag.

Well we miss you anyway.

always read, never comment, but... you can send your dead canon to a canon repair center and they will fix it for a minimum or give you the option to upgrade for a huge discount. check it out! oh, and that minimum is negotiable (I got them down)
