Tire Blowout

Ok, so Adam and I went away this weekend and had a GREAT time... and I will post about that soon... however, I have to post this first...

This happened on my drive in this morning...

That would be the front driver's side tire...

This is me pulled over in a shipyard/warehouse type place... at the exit ramp from I-95. Luckily I blew out on train tracks so I was moving slowly and I was not on the highway!

Karen (aka KMR, aka my hero) came to get me and take me to work... For anyone that knows me, you know I have a 'wall' of tow truck pictures (self-fulfilling, maybe). So far it has Jaime and Kelly from Spring Break 99 and Adam from Niagara Falls 03... now I can add Myself (portrait done by Karen)... Work 06!

Ahhh the money pit in all it's glory! Thanks to New Life Automotive, it won't be too much of a stretch on the wallet ;~) Love those guys!

HOLY COW!

Well, it's a good thing it happened after you were off the highway.

What a way to start the week back at work!

I don't mean to pry, but why couldn't you just change the tire and save on the tow bill?
Glad you were alright.

That is a very valid question John... the tires we had on the Jeep are much larger than the standard tires... unfortunately the spare is made for the standard tires, not the colossal tires we had... there would have been too much pressure on the spare... no more blowouts for me!

I feel the need to mention that we didn't put the colossal tires on the Jeep in the first place... Adam's older brother (from whom we got the car) did... we just failed to remember that you should have a spare to match! Lesson learned!

LOL Sorry to hear about your misfortune and i am glad that you weren't hurt.

Ah... Just for your information... you can use a spare that is several sizes smaller than your other tires as long as you don't leave it on there for an extended period of time (read a week or longer).

Anyway, glad no one was hurt. Let me know if you need any help with "the money pit" and I will see when I can be available. You would have to ride out to Frederick though!

My spare would work for my car (for a short distance), but I have AAA on speed dial.

Glad it happened when you were at a slower pace babe.
