Update

Consensus is in... Chase is suffering from Acid Reflux. The doctor wrote him a prescription for Axid which is basically the same as Zantac without the alcohol content. Unfortunately the doctor said it could take 7 days for the medicine to take effect but I am holding out hope that it will start to work sooner. He looks so uncomfortable most of the time and he is so tired all the time from not sleeping properly. He tends to sleep better when he sleeps next to me... which I am not a huge fan of because of the thought of rolling on him but I am being very careful and positioning him just right... he sleeps better but needless to say, my nights are not all that restful ;~) Anyway, please continue with prayers that this will work and both of us will be happier!

In other news... Chase is 9 lbs. 1 oz!!!! Freakin' huge! This was great news to me because it means that he is eating just fine and gaining weight appropriately! We have had some trouble learning breastfeeding so knowing that he is getting what he needs is music to my ears!

On Saturday Craig and Ali came down to meet Chase (and they brought dinner which if you know Ali, you know that is a total treat!) In preparation for them coming over I wanted to vacuum the apartment but Chase did not want to be put down so this is what ended up happening...

And here is Chase in one of his favorite sleeping positions...

and a close up...

This kid is so awesome.

Those pictures of you and him are priceless. I'm glad there is a diagnosis and I'm sure the medicine will take effect very soon. Hang in there...love the vacuum shot too!

Thanks for the update, and even though I'm not glad that he has acid reflux, and am so thankful that you found the problem. Hopefully the medicine will work, but if not ask the Doc about Prevacid, I've heard it works wonders.

I love the picture of him sleeping on you, to adorable. I have been known to vacuum while holding a baby myself...sometimes you just do what ya gotta do!! :)

Oh man I miss the cuddly sleeping position. That will end in another few weeks. Enjoy it! I too was terribly exhausted at the beginning, sometimes too tired to go back to bed after feeding Sam. I loved falling asleep with him on my chest like that. What a gift those moments are!

Did the Dr. mention having Chase sleep in his car seat? I've known some mothers that have done that (and Dr.s who have suggested it.) That way the baby is propped up when they sleep. Chase is still too little to wiggle out, as long as he's buckled he'll be fine. Maybe try it for a night and see if it helps. (It is also good for when they are congested!)

You are totally in my prayers! Keep plugging away, you're doing a GREAT job!

Oh, those pictures, especially the one of his sleeping on you, are so precious. Girl, you are so blessed!
I remember times when I'd have to have a kid sleep with me when they were infants, and I remember exactly how you're feeling! I'm praying for y'all.

I'm setting that pic of him sleeping on you as my desk top, that is so sweet.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO Y'ALL!!
