Chase took over 2 hour naps for daddy. Today, he took a 30 min nap. Seriously I want to rip my hair out. I don't know what I am doing wrong but now I officially know it is me.
Eh, I think it's probably you. KIDDING! Relax. Read my post from today and try to imagine how badly I wish we could trade life experiences from the past 24 hours.
The worst thing you can do is start doubting yourself! Give it a couple days, maybe ask Adam if he did anything differently...It could be a whole range of things...and maybe Chase just wants to be with his mommy!
Since you didn't buy my first post, here's another try:
Our roles are a little flipped in that Ben is in daycare all day. He NEVER sleeps for them. 30 min in the morning, MAYBE an hour in the afternoon....if they're lucky. Some days it is only 30 minutes TOTAL.
Anyway, on the week-ends, Ben sleeps an hour in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. I like to think that it is soemthing that I do to make him sleep, but I know I probably don't have anything to do with it. Change is exhausting, even for no-sleeping babies and even if it is only for week-ends. Change is why I think Ben sleeps for me on the week-ends....no special formula of what to do or not do!
Also, Ben is about to move up when he turns one to the older toddler class. He is going to start taking only one nap a day from 12:30-2:30....on a cot! I will have to see this to believe it.
Do you try one nap a day or two?? Just a thought...
Ok, I have to agree with the comment above. Babies' normal reaction to stress or strange/different situations is to sleep. So, even tho he was with Daddy, YOU weren't there and that was strange and weird for him. Plus, honey, and this comes from years of experience, they usually (note: usually) always do things better for Daddy. Savannah always does everything better for John. That used to make me doubt myself until I realized that there are things I do that he can't. It's all part of being the wonderful parenting that Chase needs from BOTH of you!
Ethan does the same thing! He naps so much better for Brian than he does for me. I tell myself it's because he likes me more and doesn't want to miss out on mommy time...but then, mommy time is all the time, so really he should just nap for me too!!!
Maybe daddy wore him out more. One thing I know, it has nothing to do with you. A child sleeps when he's tired, not depending on who is in the proximity of his nap. Don't beat up on yourself, seriously. You're great.

That post made me smile =0)
He LOVES you!!
Perhaps it isn't your doing something wrong so much as ... since he knows you are home, he can't wait to get up!
Yes, I'm going to have to agree w/the two previous comments...he knows Mommy is there..he doesn't want to miss a moment!
sorry. don't buy it.
things i've realized that usually work with lily:
1. fill her up before nap time -- 2-3 oz. soy milk
2. calming story before nap
3. she has her lovey
good luck!

Did you happen to consider he was still really sick while you were gone and therefore zonked out?
Maybe daddy made Chase run laps and he was all tuckered out....Just kidding trying to make you laugh!!!!

Yeah...I think dad wore him out! He probably got tired out by helping dad carry all that beer in the house.
